Newport Castle proposals

The brief for the 3rd Year Final Project at WSA invited suggestions for the reuse of the abandoned castle located in the center of Newport, Wales

I explored the idea of turning the three main towers into giant pinhole cameras. These would be used by resident artists to create large scale photographs of the surrounding site. The pictures would be processed on site as a spectacle to those visiting the  restaurant and remain as a record in the permanent exhibition space.

This project allowed me to investigate the way contemporary alterations can be made to historic buildings without damaging the intergity of the existing structure
