Edgar Street

Oak framed extension

We were appointed as the architects to design an oak framed extension and new outbuildings for a listed property in Hereford.

I worked closely with the client to develope the architectural brief which would respond to the sensitive nature of the site; the main property being grade 2 listed, positioned in a conservation area and close to protected trees.

We chose a simple form for the extension and limited palette of natural materials eg. brick, oak and slate which would reflect the tradiitonal appearance of the main house.

The extension would function as both a utility and conservatory space, improving the connection between the kitchen and the garden.
